HTP Watch for new tabs during tracing in MS Edge Browser

Hi All, I have a professional edition of HTTP Watch, My requirement is to trace a website which opens new tabs when I click on certain tiles . As of now, when I start tracing this website, only the original tab is recorded, however the new tabs to not get automatically recorded? Is there any configuration option for new tabs?

Hi Salman,

Yes—HttpWatch can automatically start recording in each new Edge tab.

  1. Open the HttpWatch window in Edge.
  2. Go to Tools → Options → Recording.
  3. Select Automatically record when Edge a opens a new tab.
  4. As you have the Professional Edition, you can also turn off Display a confirmation message to avoid being prompted for each new tab.

This setting applies to tabs created after you enable it, so close any existing target tabs and then click the tiles again.

Each tab has its own HttpWatch log. Open HttpWatch in a tab to view that tab’s recording. If you need to retain the logs after the tabs are closed, also enable Save log files when a tab closes or every N minutes and select an output folder.

The first request on a new tab that download the page’s HTML is often not recorded, but the rest of the traffic will appear in the HttpWatch log.
